Beim Abendessen diskutieren die Ladies schon mal über die Grammatik in der Buffy Musical-Folge.

Seitdem Ju tagsüber arbeitet, hat sich ein Teil der Kommunikation zwischen den Ladies auf Social Networks und Chats verlegt. Da sich hierüber aber auch unterhalten wurde, wenn beide in ihren jeweiligen Zimmern waren, ist es keine große Veränderung. Bei Facebook allerdings können nun auch andere sogenannte Freunde in die Unterhaltungen einsteigen…

Ju hat die Glücksnuß aufgemacht und sein/ihr Glück ist: Du wirst jemanden ein schönes Geschenk machen.

Lady Cap’n Ju: na da bin ich ja mal gespannt… reden wir von materiellen oder immateriellen Geschenken?

Marcel: ich freu mich!

Harriet: nix da. das is meins!

Michel: Geschenke für den neuen Nachbarn!

Ju: was hab ich mir hier eingebrockt?!

Harriet: Die Nuß ist schuld. Was erwartest du bei der Grammatik? Was bringste mir denn jetzt mit?

Ju: Ich bringe einfach irgendwas tolles für heute Abend mit, da seh ich euch ja alle drei

Harriet: aah, du machst dir das ja einfach…

Ju: hey, es heißt „jemanden ein“ Geschenk, nicht „vielen Leuten individuelle“

Harriet: „jemanden“ – wir ignorieren einfach mal, dass die Nuss einen Deutschkurs besuchen sollte – ist definitv Singular und bezieht sich nicht auf Gruppen… FÜR INDIVIDUELLE GESCHENKE!

Ju: jaja, die Nuss ist etwas ungebildet… aber wenn ich mich jetzt für einen von euch entscheide, sind die anderen beleidigt… du kriegst außerdem was ganz individuelles am Sonntag ^^

Ein Hoch auf die Glücknuss!

der Balkon des Headquarters grünt schon den ganzen Sommer und bringt seit einiger Zeit auch leckere Cocktailtomaten hervor. All das haben die Ladies und diverse Besucher des HQ einzig und allein Lady Stardust zu verdanken, die mit viel Liebe regelmäßig gießt, dünkt und nachschneidet.

Lady Red hingegen hat irgendwann in ihrer Jugend herausgefunden, dass sie zwei schwarze Daumen besitzt und sämtliche Zimmerpflanzen tötet, weshalb sie sich tunlichst von der Bepflanzung des Balkons fernhält. Auch wenn sie mittlerweile ganz gut damit leben kann, mit dem eisigen Hauch von Gevatter Tod ausgestattet zu sein (zumindest bei Photosynthese betreibenden Mitbewohnern), fragt sie sich doch, ob ihre drei von ihrer Vorgängerin vererbten Büropflanzen, mit denen sie sich zur Zeit werktags von 9 bis 18h den Lebensraum teilt, das gleiche Schicksal ereilen wird wie all die fleißigen Lieschen, Lavendeltöpfen und Rosenstöcken zuvor…

Die Ladies waren vorhin im Kino in einer kostenlosen Pre-preview von The Hangover. Ein wirklich empfehlenswerter Film mit Humor und ordentlich Aufs Maul™. Aber irgendwie wird your humble narrator (Ju) gerade den Gedanken nicht los, dass sie noch niemals so gefeiert hat – aber schon weitaus schlimmere Kater hatte. Unfair, oder? Gut, ich will nicht ohne Zahn aufwachen oder mit nem Tiger im Bad, und ich will auch nicht einen kompletten Blackout haben, aber trotzdem…

Mein schönstes Ferienerlebnis Mein schlimmster Hangover: Die Warnung des Police Officers beim Einführungstag der Austauschstudenten – „Never try to outdrink the Irish, because the truth is: you can’t“ – hätte ich mir zu Herzen nehmen sollen. Ich kann mich nichtmal mehr an den Namen des Typen erinnern, mit dem ich abends nach dem Kurs noch was trinken gegangen bin – bis morgens um 6 im zugeschlossenen Pub. Aber woran ich mich erinnern kann, ist, dass ich dann bis abends um 11 gekotzt habe. Mann, ging es mir dreckig…

In einer Woche bin ich arbeitslos Magistra Artium, dann muss ich dringend mal wieder feiern gehen…

…Fictional Characters we would like to be friends with:

1. The Doctor (Doctor who?) Seriously, what would be cooler than having a friend who not only is a 900-year-old Timelord but who could also take you to any place at any time in the past or future (although he sometimes isn’t that accurate: „Oh! eighteenseventynine. Well, same difference.“)

2. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Although he has his depressive moments – „I have a bad feeling about this“). Not only is Ewan McGregor seriously hot, he could also use the force to help us out of trouble: „These aren’t the droids you’re looking for.“ (And you never know when the intergalactic evil empire will raid your flat looking for illegal droids. You know the problem…). We’re not really sure about the Alec Guiness version, though. His grandfatherly character traits are appreciated, but his sword fighting abilities suck and he can get into your mind.

3. Captain Malcolm Reynolds. („Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants, sir.“) He has a spaceship. And an awesome crew. They are pirates. And cowboys. In space. ‘Nuff said.

4. Sirius Black (before Azkaban and his death, of course). He has a flying motorcycle (notice our recurring interest in unconventional methods of travelling?), can turn into a giant dog and can generally do magic. Now if that isn’t cool…

5. Joey Tribbiani („How you doin’?“). A very down-to-earth, easy-to-please kinda guy. Also, we like his other friends, too. And his duck and hen.

Damn, that was some hard work, deciding on our ‘new best friends’ (especially the fifth). Now it’s your turn, dear voyeurs readers: who would you like to be friends with?

Mann mit großer Gurke.... mmmhh

Summer’s back and brought all those dear wee things we’ve missed the last couple of days … not: pollen. While Ju is studying for her first exam (I only see her when she comes into the kitchen: “Ich könnt mal wieder was essen …”), I only do things which my mushy pollen-head allows me to do: not much. Though I really tried to read that Nat-Turner book (cross my heart!), it just didn’t seem to reach my brains (maybe they’re gone by now? Blown out of my nose with all that other goo?).

So I asked myself: what can you do without your brains? Well, I came up with some seriously brainless shit (which was the point after all) but decided that I really don’t want to do things which could be described by one or several of the following adjectives:

-          embarrassing

-          suicidal

-          exhausting

-          smelly

-          boring.

So I redecorated our balcony and baked some bread. Conclusive and most sensible thing to do in cases like these, really. (Some of you smarty-pants out there will argue that, obviously, I’m also recording my dull and eventless life right now – well, you read it!) I sowed some dill and cress, put up some nice blinds to hide those, uh, retro brown glass panes which someone decided would look good on a balcony and admired my tomato plant (“palm tree” my neighbour calls it derisively). (Spotted the first tiny wee green tomato today! See very blurred picture below).

The dough rises beautifully, even if it’s me who says so, and my nose starts unclogging.
